During
my internship with The
Crossing Studios I enjoyed the most helping in the production
of music videos. All of them were done by a small production
company called Triton
Films. They specialized in finding government funding
to produce high quality 35mm video clips for canadian artists.
While working for Triton I had the opportunity to learn
about many aspects of production including, casting, location
scouting, special effects, camera, lighting, etc. Once I
gathered enough experience I decided to go and shoot my
own music videos. I contacted my friend Brian who had just
recorded their first EP and offered to shoot their song
"Brown Sox" on video for free. Brian was thrilled
and on Feb 8, 2005 I shot the video shown here at NAL
studios.
The video was shot on a Canon XL1 and a Sony HC40 in only
3 hours. I borrowed a smoke machine from Triton and my mexican
DOP friend Mario volunteered to shoot it. I edited the video
in four days using Adobe Premiere PRO.
